Biography

“I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, even when I was a kid. And I specifically knew I wanted to be a surgeon.”

After completing his undergraduate work in preparation to enter medical school, Dr. Lemmers received a scholarship to attend the University of Cambridge in England, where he earned an advanced degree in biochemistry. From there he went on to Stanford University where he earned his medical degree. Following a residency in Urology at OHSU, Dr. Lemmers joined their faculty and for the next ten years provided subspecialty urological care, participated in the kidney transplant program, and taught medical students and residents for the Division of Urology. During this time Dr. Lemmers became recognized as an expert in the treatment of incontinence and other functional disorders of the urinary tract. With the establishment of Silverwood Urology, physicians—including fellow urologists—from all over the state continue to refer complex patients to Dr. Lemmers.

Despite the demands of his medical practice, Dr. Lemmers still manages to carve out time for the things that give his life balance. A musician, Dr. Lemmers played piano, violin, and cello in college and performed with the Colorado Springs Symphony. Today he still enjoys music performance and arranging chamber music. Outdoors you will find Dr. Lemmers doing gardening and landscape design, and spending time with his faithful canine companions.
